Intentional

I made a point recently, to show up for my friends with more intention. Basically, I just wanted to show up grounded, present, and with a purpose.

I didn’t think too much about it — I just knew this was something I wanted to do so I started the way I knew how — I experimented.

Either I would center myself before going to meet up with friends, or, I would invite my friends to join in on the practice. We acknowledged the sacredness of the time we have together and that, being in the same room, at this exact time and place, has the potential to transform us, mentally, spiritually, and physically.

And we intended it, so oftentimes, it happened.

I’ve since felt a sense of grounded-ness and presence with my friends that I’ve never felt before. A space for me, and all of my friends, to just be and exist.

There’s space for our bodies and spirits to enter the room, too.

We’re relieved, suddenly, of the pressure to be someone or something.

The more intentional we are with one another, the less “us” there is.

The pressure dies. The moment becomes enjoyable.

The more intention I bring in, the more I remember why we’re even here in the first place.
