Every experience, situation, action or behavior is associated with thoughts and mental activity — that’s literally how we “have” an experience. Instead of the experience just being as it is, our body being present, and the activity outside of our bodies happening, we actually have it. We hold it, we keep it, and thus, it becomes stored in us, until we want to let go of it. On the other hand, if we just actually pay attention in each moment, we can notice the shifts that happen in our mind as it relates to what’s happening external to us — noticing those shifts non jugementally and objectively.
